Stylist Bio

Our stylists are versed in a range of techniques as well as education. Each stylist is very well rounded with areas where they shine in personal excellence.

Alicia Dixon

Alicia began highlighting and cutting her families hair at age 12 in the kitchen of her childhood home, in Burlington, IA. She pursued a career in Graphic Design and midway through school she realized that hair was the path she was meant for. After completing hair school and a training program in Iowa, she moved to Chicago to enter the hair world of the big city.Beginning at the Saks Fifth Avenue Salon, Alicia completed a Vidal Sassoon Advanced Training Program, which is what gives her the knowledge she has of structured, classic haircuts. She then continued her training with a Toni & Guy cutting program, which rounds out her structured cutting knowledge with a shattered, texturized style.

Alicia thrives most while doing color. She was featured in The Colorist Magazine's Top 30 colorists under the age of 30 in the United States for 2015. Outside of Cellar Door, Alicia is an educator for Keune Haircosmetics, traveling to other salons to teach them color techniques. While all colors have their place with Alicia, she has a love for blondes specifically. Alicia takes the time needed, and specializes in the Balayage technique while adding different layers of color to give a natural sun kissed look.

Kerri Spiteri

Kerri prides herself on developing and maintaining close relationships and trust within her strong and loyal following. Her dynamic with each client is diverse, natural, and unique. This approach also applies to the styles and colors she chooses for them.

Her forte is color, favoring reds of all shades. She was featured in Chicago Magazine for Best Colorist for Redheads in 2011

She also specializes in natural hair styles, including waves and curls, and thinks bringing out the natural texture is the best way to have effortless, interesting hair.

Kerri's favorite styles are geometric curls, asymmetrical and short feminine fine hair. She describes them as three unique styles that are not worn by many, but when they are, can be striking and bold.

She has a down-to-earth and upbeat energy, keeping conversation interesting and fun. She thinks it's important for the salon to have a fun and relaxed feel so clients can get to know each other and feel at home.

Erin MacDonald

Erin has been in the hair industry for over 6 years. She is well versed in many forms of coloring and cutting techniques, but thrives in long hair, adding soft layers and dimension with color, adding that special touch of sparkle. On the other side of the spectrum, she has a special talent for wavy and curly hair, as well as strong geometrical bobs.

Erin is fun and extremely loving. She wants to make each client feel their best inside and out of the salon, and will do so while giving you a warm smile and a comfortable rapport. Erin will take the time to talk about your and her ideas and find the perfect look for each person in her chair.

She excels in men's cuts, whether it be a unique and modern style or a timeless classic look. She works with a shear over-comb technique as well as adding texture and weight distribution when needed. She is currently studying barber styles to have a more well-rounded base and to combine the stylist approach to classic cuts. Becoming certified in Hair Dreams has recently been added to her list of experience and she is looking to start editorial work in the near future with Cellar Door. There isn't anything Pixie doesn't want to master.

Amy Wronski

Amy is our first stylist to have completed our apprenticeship program!  She’s an Aveda graduate who’s had her hands in hair ever since she was little.  If her friends weren’t being chased with velcro rollers or her American Girl Dolls weren’t being glamorized, then her mom was being chased for a trim.

Upon moving to Chicago from Michigan, her enthusiasm for hair only grew and she’s been dedicated ever since.  Her desire to make others feel comfortable and happy is the driving force behind her craftsmanship.  Whether you want sophistication or punk rock, subtle highlights or bold fashion colors, Amy is committed to customizing a style that’s 100% true to you.  Outside of the salon, you can find Amy playing the ukulele or walking her dog, Skippy.

Dahlia Velazquez

Following in the footsteps of both her brother and sister, Dahlia knew she was destined to be a stylist. She loves developing new skills and is always at the top of her game with advanced education. Honing in on bold color patterns as well as advancing in curly and textured hair, razoring, and barber cuts, she works hard to find the best fitting look for each client. By blending her knowledge with the client’s lifestyle and hair texture, she finds the perfect fit, whether it be an on-the-go style or clean-lined precision. Known for her calm demeanor and ability to really listen to her clients’ needs, she’ll make anyone feel right at home and taken care of.
